Common questions

Eat four times and aim for about 38 g each time. From the recipes on this page that freeze, a breakfast burrito at 38 g, turkey meatballs at 42 g and a turkey bolognese at 41 g, with 300 g of plain nonfat Greek yogurt through the day at 31 g, come to 152 g and about 2,170 calories by our estimates. That is a lot of food, and a 150 g target suits someone of around 75 kg who trains hard.

Three recipes on this page reach 40 g as written, and all three freeze: the chicken enchiladas at 50 g, the turkey meatballs at 42 g and the turkey bolognese at 41 g. The chicken curry gets there with Greek yogurt in place of the coconut milk, stirred in after reheating. And 100 g of Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream on the turkey chili takes a bowl from 25 g to about 34 g. All figures are estimates.

Three meals of about 33 g. The week on this page does it with protein overnight oats at 39 g, turkey chili at 25 g and cottage cheese lasagna at 36 g on Monday and Tuesday, then a breakfast burrito at 38 g in place of the oats: 99 to 100 g a day by our estimates, all of it cooked on one Sunday.

Two of the meals in this plan: a jar of protein overnight oats at 39 g and a slice of the cottage cheese lasagna at 36 g make 75 g, for about 1,010 calories by our estimates. For comparison, the Recommended Dietary Allowance of 0.8 g per kilogram of body weight comes to 70 g for someone of about 88 kg.
