ReciPop keeps your cooking to yourself.
Your recipes, grocery list, and macro targets live on your device. We use a small amount of anonymous product analytics and crash reporting to keep the app working, and nothing more.
The short version
Who we are
ReciPop is an iOS app operated by Chronica Labs Ltd, 10 Kings Court, Uxbridge Rd, TW15 6DG, United Kingdom. For privacy questions, including any request about your data, write to privacy@recipop.app. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we are the data controller for the limited information described below.
What stays on your device
ReciPop has no accounts and no cloud sync today. The following is stored locally on your iPhone and is not transmitted to us:
- Your saved recipes and your cookbook.
- Your grocery list and its tick state.
- Your macro targets, goal, and the body stats used to calculate them.
- Your dietary preferences, notification choices, and unit preference.
Because this data lives in local storage on your device, deleting the app deletes it. We cannot restore it for you, and we cannot read it.
What we do collect
This matches the App Privacy information shown on ReciPop's App Store product page. We do not collect contact information, health records, financial information, contacts, precise location, or an advertising identifier.
Camera and photos
ReciPop asks for camera or photo-library access only at the moment you choose an action that needs it, and uses it only for that action. It does not scan your library in the background, and it does not upload your photos anywhere.
Recipe imports
When you import a recipe by link, that URL is sent to our recipe service so the page can be fetched and rebuilt into a recipe. We use it to complete the import you asked for. We do not build an advertising or browsing profile from your imports, and we do not sell or share your import history.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details. Our subscription infrastructure receives a pseudonymous purchase identifier from Apple so the app knows whether your subscription is active. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles payment data.
Third parties we use
Each of these receives only what its job requires. None of them is an advertising network.
What we do not do
Tracking and ATT
ReciPop does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, so it does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the IDFA. There are no advertising SDKs in the app.
How long we keep things
Anonymous analytics events and crash reports are retained for up to 12 months, then deleted or aggregated. On-device data stays until you delete it or delete the app.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data-protection regulator. Because the app holds no account, the practical routes are:
- Delete everything: delete the app, which removes all on-device data.
- Analytics: email us and we will delete the anonymous event records associated with your device identifier.
- Notifications: turn them off in the Me tab or in iOS Settings.
- Requests: write to privacy@recipop.app. We reply within 30 days.
Californian residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not discriminate against anyone exercising their rights.
Children
ReciPop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with information, write to us and we will delete it.
International transfers and security
Our analytics, crash-reporting, and recipe providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK and EU standard contractual clauses. We use encryption in transit and limit internal access to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data we will update this page and its date, and where the change is material we will surface a notice in the app.
Contact
Privacy questions, requests, or concerns, write to privacy@recipop.app. For anything not working in the app, our Support page is faster. Our Terms of Use sit alongside this policy.
